Suzanne Brown gets the nod as next REIWA President

The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) has elected Suzanne Brown as its new President, taking over from Joe White who completed his two-year term.

Ms Brown, an agent and business owner with over 35 years of experience, brings extensive industry knowledge to the role.

She has been a REIWA Council member since 2015 and served as Deputy President from 2022 to 2024.

Ms Brown said she was committed to addressing pressing industry concerns.

“My focus will be on ensuring REIWA remains a strong voice in addressing housing affordability, boosting supply and supporting our members as we navigate evolving industry and legislative conditions,” she said.

REIWA CEO Cath Hart welcomed Ms Brown’s appointment and said she has plenty of expertise in representing members and advocating for the industry.

“Suzanne brings a wealth of knowledge to the role of President,” Ms Hart said.

“We look forward to working closely with her over the next two years as we continue to address key issues including housing supply, affordability, and regulatory change.”

Rob Mandanici was elected as the new Deputy President, while Peta McKenzie will chair the Finance and Risk Management Committee.

Outgoing President Joe White will remain on the REIWA Council as a Councillor for one more year and continue to represent REIWA as a regional spokesperson.

Ms Hart praised Mr White’s contributions, particularly as REIWA’s first regionally-based President.

“His leadership and strategic foresight have been integral to the Institute’s progress during a time of significant change,” Ms Hart said.

The leadership transition comes as REIWA faces ongoing challenges in the Western Australian property market, including housing supply shortages and affordability concerns.

“I am grateful for the trust the Council has placed in me, and I look forward to continuing the important work of advocating for our members and the wider community,” Ms Brown said.
