Roseville Galleria Mall hit by ‘smash and grab’ burglary, police investigate

(FOX40.COM) — Law enforcement is investigating a burglary that happened at the Roseville Galleria Mall on Thursday.

Around 11:30 a.m., the Roseville Police Department said it responded to a “smash and grab” inside the Galleria’s S&L Gem. Officers said multiple suspects entered the store with hammers, smashed the glass displays, and fled with stolen jewelry.

No weapons were used and no one was injured, according to RPD. There were also no arrests, but RPD said an investigation is ongoing.

In response, Roseville Galleria ramped up security.

“The safety and security of our customers, retailers, and employees is always our primary concern at Westfield Galleria at Roseville,” a Roseville Galleria spokesperson told FOX40.com. “We are working closely with local law enforcement regarding the earlier incident at our center.”

The burglary comes one week after a Kim Tin jewelry store burglary in Sacramento that left a woman dead. The two incidents have not been connected, however, the Sacramento burglary involved five to six people who used crowbars and other items for the crime.
