Seahawks hosting recently un-retired WR Michael Gallup for a free agent visit

When the Seattle Seahawks signed former Eastern Washington University and Yakima native Cooper Kupp, many assumed the team might be done in free agency when it came to addressing their wide receiver corps. However, the Seahawks under general manager John Schneider have a habit of leaving no stone unturned. On Monday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Seattle will be hosting former Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Michael Gallup for a visit.

Gallup retired from the NFL on July 23rd last summer. Now, he is officially un-retired and seeking a new NFL home.

Originally a third round selection by the Cowboys during the 2018 NFL draft, Gallup emerged in his sophomore season as a legitimate weapon in Dallas’ passing attack. His 2019 season saw him set career-bests with 66 receptions for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns. He followed up his breakout campaign with 59 catches for 843 yards and five scores in 2020. Unfortunately, an ACL injury cut his 2021 season short, and he was never the same in Dallas. Following his injury, Gallup ended with receiving totals of 445, 424, and 419.

Gallup was released by the Cowboys after the 2023 season, and signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, as previously mentioned, he retired before training camp began.

Now he is looking for his next stop in the NFL, and he is hoping it will be with the Seattle Seahawks.
