The two students nominated for Courier Journal High School Student of the Week are described as determined and actively involved in school programs.

High school principals, teachers, guidance counselors and district officials are invited to nominate students each week based on outstanding achievement or community service.
We will announce the top vote-getter each Friday.
Learn about the Student of the Week nominees:
Brianna Brandenburg, Charlestown High School: Despite her shy and quiet demeanor, Brianna consistently demonstrates an outstanding work ethic. She is not afraid to ask for help when needed, showing her willingness to learn and grow. She is always respectful, and when faced with challenges she shows up every day with determination, giving her best effort.
Joseph Wiese, Oldham County High School: Joseph is a sophomore at Oldham County High School. He is a straight-A student who takes advanced and Advanced Placement courses. He is active in our school’s band program where he is an All-District concert band member and participates in the marching and pep bands. He is also a member of our school’s archery team, where he qualified for the state finals meet. Outside of school, he is active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he has achieved the rank of Life Scout.
